About the business:

I started Strawberry Design Co in Winter 2021 after seeing some beautiful fluffy large scrunchies online. I thought to myself I could make that as I love crafting & creating things. I already had fabrics & a sewing machine & all the other bits and pieces so I got to work! I wore them around and friends & work colleagues and they all wanted one too, so I got making & buying more new fabrics (my favourite good, bad habit!) I also had a few other ideas of items I would like to create & sell so I decided to build stock up slowly while working full time & turn it into a small business for myself.

I must say I am a bit of a perfectionist so I spent lots of time perfecting techniques, sizes and ways to create products before I did my first market. I also spent lots of time working out my pop-up displays for my market setup & making my own stands & sewing my own tablecloths too!

After some time off from the business while changing jobs & having some other life changes I decided to book in my first market for 28/10/23. I had a a lovely day speaking to lots of customers & getting ideas for my next market. In a year & 1/2 I personally think I have come so far in my market setup & display, product range & customer service skills! (Even though I had previously worked in retail for 6 years), working at your own stall with your own product is a very different feeling!

I still usually have either my Boyfriend (Justin) or my Mum (Julie) at my Markets still to help me setup & run the stall with me! I also bring my Chihuahua (Poppy) & sometimes my Greyhound (Cookie) to Markets too to model the stock (obviously!)

I have recently moved to Goulburn and have created a large craft room for me to work in! Im so happy with how its come together and all the new products and ranges I will be able to create in there! I am currently getting a workspace & shop created in the shed of my parents home! So I will eventually have some open days for purchases, workshops & on site classes avaliable! How exciting!!
